Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join a client's dynamic team in California. This role is essential for supporting the HR department and ensuring efficient and effective HR operations. The HR Generalist will be involved in various HR functions, focusing on employee support, compliance, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, familiarity with HR software, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Paycom database for new hire onboarding paperwork, including data entry, reference checks, E-Verify, background checks, and immigration compliance with I-9 documents.
  • Assisting with the compilation of timecard information for payroll processing.
  • Arranging meetings, compiling reports, composing letters/VOEs, and handling special projects as directed.
  • Handling a high volume of inbound telephone calls and emails.
  • Administering benefits and open enrollment.
  • Supporting all onboarding functions and ensuring a positive HR experience for every employee.
  • Addressing employee issues with a positive and supportive approach.
  • Assisting with internal and external job movements, including preparing job postings and new hire packets.
  • Updating and maintaining job descriptions and assisting with employee relations, including gathering data and assisting with investigations.
  • Developing and implementing HR best practices and directing FMLA, ADA, and disability workers' compensation inquiries.
  • Assisting with inquiries related to benefits, retirement, and compensation, and routing questions to appropriate resources.
  • Supporting additional HR duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in HR or proven experience as an HR Assistant or relevant human resources position.
  • HR Certification and at least 5 years of ADP Workforce Now experience using all features.
  • Experience with recruitment, SASS, and onboarding modules is desired.
  • Experience with updating IIPP binder, OSHA 300 A log, OSHA summaries, OSHA form 301, and submissions to OSHA.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities and work well under pressure.

Computer/Software Skills

  • Familiarity with an HRIS or HRMS and experience with ADP Workforce Now required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, Adobe Sign, MS Outlook, and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working with a multi-cultural and economically diverse population is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise good judgment and discretion when working with sensitive issues or highly confidential information.
  • Experience and understanding of a self-insured insurance plan.

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $37 - $45 per hour
